2013 Summer Camps at Our Space
Ages: Children entering Kindergarten through 12 years old.
Tuition Cost: $185.00 per week, or $38 per day (four days or less)
(10% tuition discount on older sibling)
Field trip admission may be added charge with weekly trips.
One time registration fee of $75 per newly enrolling child.
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack served daily
Each week includes: Daily: Bible Time, playground time
Weekly: theme crafts & projects, field trips and swimming
Times: Drop off between 7:00 am - 9:00 am
Program 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (potential off-site hours)
Pick up between: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

2013 Summer Camps at Our Space - Themes - Dates - Overviews
Week One – EXPLORE MINNESOTA – June 10-14: Launch summer fun exploring our great state of Minnesota! Make your Minnesota Passport as you learn about our state’s history, then enjoy exploring during our trips to the MN History Center and Fort Snelling.
Week Two – NOW BROADCASTING – June 17-21: Put your creativity to the test as you imagine yourself as a broadcaster! Create and record a radio program and help put on the Our Space newscast, with skills we learn during our visits to the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting and a radio station tour.
Week Three – WHAT’S THE WEATHER? – June 24-28: Get ready to learn about the weather! This week includes a visit with a real-life meteorologist at the news station, and a trip to learn about weather workings at the MN Science Museum.
Week Four – HELPING HANDS – July 1-5: Friendship reaches a higher level as we work together to show we care! Our activities will include creating encouragement letters and service opportunities in our community. We will enjoy some Independence Day fun, too!
Week Five – BOOK ADVENTURES – July 8-12: Turn on those creative brains, and prepare to publish your own book! Our visits to the Regional Library and a publishing house will inspire us! Our small group book clubs will keep our summer reading brains on!
Week Six – AROUND THE WORLD – July 15-19: Think globally as we consider God’s great big world! We will try out some international cooking recipes, invite some special guest travelers, and visit the “castle” of the Swedish Institute in Minneapolis!
Week Seven – THE GREAT OUTDOORS – July 22-26: Check out the outdoors, Minnesota Style! Our outdoor trip destinations, including Bryant Lake Park (Three Rivers District) will allow for some summer fun, like boating and hiking, and a full day at a nearby camp!
Week Eight – SPORTS ADVENTURES – July 29-August 2: Try out some new sports this week! Our sports team visitors will introduce some fun new sports skills, including a day of football with Joey (Tulsa University Football Team)! Field trips include bowling and a tour of the Xcel Energy Center (Home of the MN Wild Hockey Team).
Week Nine – BUGS & MORE – August 5-9: Be on the lookout for lots of bugs . . . and then design your own unique bug! Learn about bugs and insects at the Westwood Hills Nature Center, and enjoy our bug hunt at the Como Zoo.
Week Ten – INVENTORS’ WORKSHOP – August 12-16: Calling all inventors! This week you will design your very own products, and learn about how ideas are born and then created! Test your engineering skills with our in-house experiments and our trips to the WORKS Museum and the Bakken Museum.
Week Eleven – FIT & FUN – August 19-23: Get in shape before the summer’s done! Design your own workout, with ideas inspired by our fitness guests. Our trips to Hyland Park’s Chutes and Ladders and the Williston Fitness Center will ensure we get moving!
Week Twelve – CARDBOARD CONSTRUCTION - August 26-30: Put your creativity to the test as you design a world out of cardboard! Boats, houses, buses, castles . . .the construction ideas are yours, as we turn the gym into another world – for everyone to tour at the end of the week! Enjoy our last summer trip to Williston Fitness Center this week.
